Even though Durga Pujo celebrations won’t start for another month, Kolkatans are preparing to welcome Ganapati Bappa first. Before Ganesh Chaturthi, hundreds of pandals with various themes are built across the city, but the one depicting India’s Chandrayaan-3 moon mission is drawing the most attention.
You may view the moon and the Vikram rover as you enter the pandal and hear the Chandrayaan-3 landing countdown. “Pari Dithe Pari (we can go and do it)” is the theme’s name.
“We are extremely proud that ISRO scientists put all of their efforts into ensuring the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the moon,” said Pandal President Anindya Chatterjee. Their honor is honored through our pandal. This pandal is a salute to all of our scientists. They performed a fantastic job, and we are pleased with them. Bengal has more than 30 scientists.
Despite the fact that the pujo won’t start until Tuesday, people have already begun to come to the pandal to observe the Chandrayaan-3 theme.
West Bengal’s theme-based pandals are also well-liked during Durga Puja. For the 10-day celebrations coming up next month, certain pandals depicting Chandrayaan-3’s achievement are already being constructed.
IS GANESH CHATURTHI THIS YEAR?
The holiday of Ganesh Chaturthi honors the birth of Lord Ganesha. It is a 10-day event that usually takes place in Shukla Paksha (the bright fortnight) of the Hindu calendar’s Bhadrapada month in August or September. The alignment of the moon and the star Pushya determines the day of Ganesh Chaturthi. When the moon and Pushya align this year, it will happen at 12:39 PM on September 18 and terminate at 1:43 PM on September 19. Ganesh Chaturthi will thus be celebrated on September 19.
On Chaturthi Tithi, the auspicious period for welcoming Lord Ganesha home will begin at 12:39 PM on September 18 and finish at 1:43 PM on September 19. On September 28, Ganesha Visarjan will bring the ten-day Ganesha Utsav festivities to a close.
