According to a senior Western Railway official, the Gandhinagar-Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Express struck a herd of cattle on Tuesday evening at Dahanu station. Since the Vande Bharat train began operating commercially in October of last year, there have been several instances of livestock getting struck by the train. This was the most recent incidence.
According to him, neither a passenger nor the train was harmed. According to the officer, the event happened at about 7:05 p.m. on the Western Railway’s Umargam-Gholvad line near the Gujarat–Maharashtra border.
At 7:12 p.m., he said, the semi-high-speed train headed for Mumbai Central left the location. The Western Railway has already started installing metal beam fencing along the busy Mumbai-Gandhinagar line in order to prevent accidents when livestock are accidentally driven over. He said that the incident on Tuesday occurred along a 378-meter segment of the section where beam installation work was still unfinished.
