People may soon be compensated for submitting their GST invoice to a mobile app since the government is about to roll out the much anticipated “Mera Bill Mera Adhikar” program.
Both the iOS and Android operating systems will support the “Mera Bill Mera Adhikar” mobile application. PTI said that the invoice posted on the app must include the seller’s GSTIN, the invoice number, the amount paid, and the tax amount.
Two officials told PTI that under the invoice incentivization plan, anyone who submit invoices they get from retailers or wholesalers into the app might win cash prizes ranging from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1 crore every month or every three months.
An official said that a person will be limited to uploading 25 legitimate invoices every month to the app, and each invoice would need to have a minimum purchase value of Rs 200.
Every month, more than 500 computerized drawings would be held, with prizes that may total thousands of rupees. According to organizers, there will be two fortunate drawings each quarter with prizes that might total Rs 1 crore.
They said that the plan was being finalized and that it may perhaps be introduced this month.
The government has previously mandated electronic invoices for B2B transactions when the yearly revenue exceeds Rs 5 crore in order to combat the threat of GST evasion.
The program would make sure that electronic invoices were generated even for B2C clients so that the buyer would be qualified to enter the drawing.
When making a business-to-consumer (B2C) purchase of products or services that are subject to the products and Services Tax, the plan is designed to encourage citizens and consumers to demand real invoices from the supplier.
The program is designed to promote tax-compliant behavior among Indian consumers and businesses at the B2C stage of transactions.
The GST Network (GSTN) has created the technological infrastructure that will allow users of a user-friendly mobile application and web to register themselves and submit invoices.
This program is anticipated to accomplish a number of goals, including promoting and rewarding consumer compliance, supporting tax-compliant firms, increasing consumer spending, and preventing tax evasion.
