After a court recently ordered Maharashtra lawmaker Dhananjay Munde to provide interim support to his separated wife and daughter, his son has stepped up to defend him in a stunning turn of events in his ongoing domestic battle.
In 2020, Karuna Sharma, Dhananjay Munde’s first wife and the mother of his son and daughter, filed a domestic abuse lawsuit against him. She then used the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act to get compensation and interim maintenance.
On February 4, Karuna Sharma’s request for temporary support under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act was partially granted by a Bandra magistrate’s court. The minister was ordered by the court to provide her ₹1,25,000 and their daughter ₹75,000 per month.
In a message posted on Thursday, Seeshiv Munde, the couple’s son, said that although his father was “strict” with his mother, Munde’s first wife refuted the accusations and claimed that his son was under pressure.
Karuna Sharma refuted the accusations, asserting that Munde was pressuring Seeshiv to make them. She later claimed to reporters that Seeshiv and Dhananjay were stopping her from speaking to the media because they believed it to be harassment.
“My son is being made to post statements against his will. One state minister is Dhananjay Munde. According to news agency PTI, Karuna Sharma stated, “My kids don’t want to end up in jail or be wrongfully implicated in cases.” has never treated his kids harshly. Karuna Sharma was also charged by Seeshiv with torturing him and his sister.
Karuna also stated that her children had suffered as a result of her and Munde’s tense relationship, and she said her son had been contacted by his father a lot when she was addressing the media.
Karuna also made fun of Seeshiv by saying that, despite being the sole son of the Munde family, he was unemployed and had no property. The Munde family’s sole kid is sitting at home without a job. The son of the Munde family has no property in his name, while Walmik Karad, a former servant, owns properties valued at almost ₹4,000 crore, she added.
This continuing conflict also coincides with Dhananjay Munde’s involvement in a scandal involving his close associate Walmik Karad, who was detained in connection with an extortion case involving the killing of Sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh in Beed district, Munde’s native central Maharashtra.
Dhananjay Munde, the head of the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar), is the Maharashtra government’s minister of food, civil supplies, and consumer protection.
