An important achievement is the completion of Chennai Airport’s phase II modernization project, with the opening of the new integrated terminal building (T2 terminal) to all international travelers.
On July 7, the cutting-edge terminal, which measures a whopping 1,36,295 square meters, officially started full operations. It now accommodates both departing and incoming planes that were previously handled separately at the T4 and T3 terminals, respectively.
The massive undertaking, which is expected to cost over Rs 2,500 crore, seeks to improve the passenger experience and increase the airport’s ability to accommodate passengers. Aviation officials vow that the remaining part of the terminal will be built quickly to satisfy rising demand, with one section of the facility currently functioning.
