Eknath Shinde, the chief minister of Maharashtra, made a harsh assault on his predecessor Uddhav Thackeray on Friday without identifying him, saying that it needed to be discovered who had betrayed the will of the people, Bal Thackeray’s philosophy, and a 25-year ally.
He was responding to the parliamentary assembly discussion from last week, which the opposition had sponsored.
“We have been referred to as “khoke” and “gaddar” for the last year. It’s time to resolve this issue for good. People have written to us demanding that we repay Rs 50 crore after calling us “gaddar” and “khoke.” I’ve given the go-ahead for its reappearance. I’m not claiming your possessions. Balasaheb Thackeray’s philosophy is my property, Shinde stated.
After he separated the Thackeray-led Shiv Sena in June, he was likely referring to a disagreement over party money.
It’s time to identify the “maha gaddar” (large traitor) of Maharashtra, he said.
The Uddhav Thackeray group accused the rebels of receiving “khoke,” or boxes of money, and of being “traitors,” when Shinde divided the Sena and overthrew the Thackeray-led administration. By collaborating with the NCP and Congress, the Shinde faction charged Thackeray of forsaking his father’s philosophy and the old ally BJP.
The opposition, according to the chief minister, was a confused group that didn’t provide any useful criticism during the Monsoon session.
The Enforcement Directorate is looking into how old oxygen plants were used, which caused “patients lost their eyes” (due to a resultant fungal infection), and how body bags that cost Rs 300 were sold for Rs 6,000. According to Shinde, irregularities committed during the COVID-19 pandemic will not be overlooked and the guilty will be punished.
He said that jibes abounded and that the quality of education, ideology, and economic investment all declined during the Maha Vikas Aghadi administration (headed by Thackeray).
He said, “We are making up for what was lost.”
Shinde said that his was a coalition administration made up of like-minded parties that had the backing of the Center in large measure. He added that instead of 170, “our number in the assembly is now 215.” Last month, the NCP group headed by Ajit Pawar joined the Shiv Sena-BJP coalition.
India’s economy has risen from tenth to fifth place, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is now aiming for third place, according to Shinde.
Maharashtra had dropped to third place in the nation under the MVA regime, behind Gujarat and Karnataka, but he said that after receiving investments of Rs. 1.17 lakh crore, the state’s top position has been reclaimed.
