Congressmen Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi expressed their condolences on Monday for the deaths of passengers in a train disaster that occurred in the Vizianagaram region of Andhra Pradesh.
“Extremely saddened to learn about the train derailment tragedy in Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh, where precious lives have been lost and several people have suffered injuries,” said Kharge in a message on X, the previous Twitter platform. We send our sincerest sympathies to the deceased family. We offer prayers for the wounded people’s quick recovery. I ask that members of Congress assist me in whatever way they can.
“It seems that the Union Government’s assurances of safety after the Balasore train disaster have vanished into thin air. Kharge blasted the administration, saying, “The same enthusiasm of flagging trains with fanfare and propaganda should also be shown in action towards railway safety and the well-being of crores of passengers on a daily basis.”
Rahul Gandhi expressed his dismay at the news of several fatalities and injuries from yesterday’s train tragedy in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh, in a Facebook post. I offer my sincere sympathies to the relatives of the deceased and wish everyone who has been hurt a swift recovery. The Congress leader urged members in the area to help the government in every way they can with relief and rescue efforts.
