Vandalism at the Office of BJP MLA Prashant Bamb: A Case Has Been Filed
On Monday, several Maratha quota supporters in the Gangapur region of this city vandalized Bamb’s office with wooden clubs. They broke windows and smashed furniture at the governing party lawmaker’s office. In accordance with Indian Penal Code Sections 452 (house trespass with intent to cause hurt, assault, or wrongful restraint), 427 (mischief causing damage), 120B (criminal conspiracy), 143 and 144 (unlawful assembly), a case has been filed against seven identified and ten to fifteen unidentified individuals, according to a police release. The local government in Maharashtra’s Dharashiv district has declared a curfew in response to violent occurrences that have occurred during the current movement for Maratha quota.
Imposed Curfew In Maharashtra’s Dharashiv District
The district collector, Sachin Ombase, issued an order on Monday night prohibiting the gathering of more than five individuals during the curfew. According to an official notification, the curfew is in place throughout the district in accordance with section 144(2) of the CrPC and will be in place until further instructions. According to the statement, the order would be in effect for district stores, universities, and schools. Nonetheless, businesses that offer milk and medications, as well as government buildings, banks, hospitals, public transportation, and the media, are excluded. In several sections of the district, there have been agitations and hunger strikes in response to the demand for reservations for the Maratha group.
Karnataka Bus Services Are Ceased Following Bus Fire
The Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC) has halted bus service to Maharashtra due to protestors setting one of the company’s buses on fire in Omerga, Maharashtra, amid the current Maratha quota movement. On Tuesday, a representative of the transportation department said that nobody was hurt in the incident. At the time of the event, the state-owned KKRTC bus was traveling from Bhalki in Bidar to Pune. The demonstrators disembarked every passenger and burned the bus on fire, leaving no injuries. Alternative plans were swiftly arranged to get the passengers to their destination, he said. The officer went on, “We will suspend bus operations until normalcy is restored.”
Arrests and Violence in Beed District
In Beed district, where the local government on Monday enforced a curfew until “further orders” in some areas, police used tear gas to disperse a crowd of Maratha agitators that had gathered outside the home of a Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader. This district saw the majority of the violent incidents and arson. On Monday night, the NCP local office in Beed was also set on fire. Two NCP MLAs’ homes were set on fire in Beed, while demonstrators vandalized the office of another BJP lawmaker, they claimed, adding that no injuries had been recorded.
According to an official on Tuesday, 49 persons have been taken into custody by police in relation to the violence that has occurred in Maharashtra’s Beed district during the current Maratha reservation movement. Following many violent and arsonous episodes that targeted the residences of politicians, a curfew was implemented in several areas of Beed district on Monday night. According to Beed Superintendent of Police Nandkumar Thakur, everything are under control at the moment (PTI). “Crimes related to the occurrences have been reported for rioting and endangering life. There have been 49 agitators apprehended thus far. He said, “The situation is under control and there was no untoward incident at night.”

Another official said that the curfew has been imposed in a radius of five kilometers around the collector’s office, taluka head offices, and all national roads that travel through the district, in accordance with an order issued by Beed Collector Deepa Mudhol Munde. A gang of quota agitators set fire to and threw stones at the Majalgaon town house of NCP (Ajit Pawar group) MLA Prakash Solanke on Monday morning in Beed district, according to prior reports from the police.
After an audio tape of the MLA went viral, allegedly discussing the Maratha quota movement and making a subtle jab at Manoj Jarange, a quota activist who was fasting, the mob also burned a vehicle parked near Solanke’s house on fire. Following the arson at the legislator’s residence, a gang of activists from the Maratha reserve left the area and vandalized and set fire to the Majalgaon Municipal Council building’s first floor.
On Monday night, a gang of Maratha quota activists broke into NCP MLA Sandeep Kshirsagar’s Beed city office and home building, setting both on fire. In a another instance, demonstrators set fire to and threw stones at the Beed city home of former state minister Jaydutt Kshirsagar.
Police used tear gas to disperse a group of Maratha agitators who had assembled outside the home of Amarsingh Pandit, the head of the NCP (Ajit Pawar faction).
Manoj Jarange, a Maratha quota activist, has been on an indefinite hunger strike in Antarwali Sarati hamlet in Jalna district since October 25 in support of the demand for reservations. This is when the violence and arson occurred. Members of the Maratha community have been holding rallies throughout the state to demand reservations for OBCs in government employment and education.
