Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, was allegedly accused of pushing a man during a visit to a flood-affected district in Nagpur city on Sunday. The accusation was refuted by the governing BJP. On X, the Maharashtra Congress and Shiv Sena (UBT) published a video of Fadnavis visiting a rain-damaged neighborhood and charged him with “arrogance of power” for shoving a citizen away.
In the video, several ladies are seen fighting with the police officers and security guards who are escorting Fadnavis and seem to be demanding that they have him come to their homes. In the meanwhile, Fadnavis drew a guy who had been seen with the ladies toward him and struck up a conversation with him.
“Instead of spending his “nights’” in incognito to overthrow the MVA regime. Devendra Fadnavis ought to have dedicated his “Days” to helping the people of Nagpur, his birthplace. If he had done that, he most likely would not have had to deal with their “Anger.” P.S. His behavior here is unacceptable,” said Clyde Crasto, national spokesman for the NCP, on X, tagging the video to his post.
Maharashtra BJP responded to the video by calling the opposition’s claims “misleading and politically motivated.” Many locals in Nagpur’s flood-affected region requested that Fadnavis visit their houses during his visit. It is impossible to visit every residence, however. A local insistently demanded that Fadnavis go to his residence in the meanwhile. Fadnavis took the person’s hand and drew him close as the police were halting him to let him know he will also be visiting his house, the BJP said on X.
The BJP said that since Fadnavis is popular across Nagpur, there is no harm in people requesting that he visit them at home. The BJP made a subtle jab at former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray by saying, “It is disgusting and the height of shamelessness that such incidents are politicized by those who never mix with people.”
A video of Fadnavis visiting the guy in the video’s house has also been uploaded online by the BJP. “Congratulations to Uddhav Thackeray and Congress for adopting the work of the trolling gang and forsaking the constructive work of the opposition party! You lack employment because the citizens of the state rejected you. So keep tuned,” said the BJP.
The biggest body of water in the city, Ambazari Lake, which overflowed its borders on Saturday as a result of severe rainfall, was inspected by Fadnavis in the morning. Several portions of the city were submerged by very high rains that fell over three hours and totaled 109 mm, including 90 mm between 2 and 4 am on Saturday.
10,000 households may have been impacted. Homes have been invaded by mud. The government is assisting in cleaning up flood-affected regions and supplying medications. The degree of harm is severe. The area’s carrying capacity was exceeded by the quantity of rainfall, he told reporters.
On Saturday, more than 400 individuals had to be relocated to safety as a result of rain-related accidents, four of which included a 53-year-old lady who was bedridden.
