Sanjay Raut, a Shiv Sena (UBT) member, blasted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) administration in a statement on Wednesday, claiming that the change from India to Bharat amounted to “an insult” to the constitution drafted by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.
He argued that “India” and “Bharat” were both included in the country’s Constitution, and that because there had been no objections to the use of India for all these years, “who has given them the right to make the name change” at this time?
He said that the issues began a few months ago with the National Opposition parties’ formation of the “Indian National Democratic Inclusive Alliance” (I.N.D.I.A.) bloc, which severely alarmed the BJP.
“Now even the name of the nation, INDIA, which it has been utilizing for so many of its own initiatives, terrifies the BJP. What unexpected event led to your decision, and how many more things are you planning to alter?, Raut questioned sternly.
The head of Sena (UBT) cautioned that the nation’s citizens would not accept the BJP’s politically driven effort to preserve itself.
The party’s president and former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray had remarked during the INDIA Conclave on September 1 here that “they will give a fitting reply to the BJP in the next elections when the INDIA group will come to power,” and Raut echoed this.
