The Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Income Tax Department have cracked down on the famous Rajmal Lakhichand Jewelers of Jalgaon city. Along with NCP State Treasurer and former NCP MP Ishwar Lal Jain, six of his companies have been raided at many places including Mumbai, Nashik. On one side where there is a split in NCP. In such a situation, it has been learned that due to being the treasurer, this inquiry has been done for many reasons including the funding and documents received by the party. This action has created quite a stir in the state.
A total of six companies in Jalgaon and Nashik were raided. Investigation was going on at all these places till 4 am on Thursday. However, it is not known why the questioning was done. However, as per the information received, this inquiry was done for some political reason.
Ten vehicles of ED team from different districts including Mumbai, Nagpur, Aurangabad entered Jalgaon district together on Thursday. They raided a total of six companies of former MLA Manish Jain and former MP Ishwarlal Jain in Jalgaon and Nashik and started checking properties and documents at those places. The investigation was carried out by the Enforcement Directorate and the Income Tax Department. It is said that Manish Jain was also interrogated by the officials and obtained necessary information from him.
The investigation was being conducted by a 60-member ED team. Customers were not allowed inside during the inspection. Along with this, the employees present inside were also thrown out. The reason for which both the teams are investigating has not been revealed yet. Till 4 am the team of officers and employees were checking with documents in several establishments.
It is being told that this action is related to the outstanding loan of Rs 600 crore taken from the State Bank. Last year also in the month of December, the CBI had investigated Rajmal Lakhichand Jewellers. Meanwhile, a total of Rs 40 crore was paid from Ishwarlal Jain out of the outstanding loan and the proceedings were temporarily suspended. No official information has been made available regarding this ongoing investigation today.
Even after the split in NCP, former MP Ishwarlal Jain has supported Sharad Pawar. While Ishwarlal Jain’s former Legislative Council MLA Manish Jain left Sharad Pawar’s side and stood by Ajit Pawar. Ishwarlal Jain was the treasurer of the entire state of NCP for ten-fifteen years. The NCP office seat in Jalgaon is also in Ishwarlal Jain name.
