Police were sent to control some unruly elements at a hospital in Palghar district of `An official said a minor who was trying to escape from the police collapsed and was declared brought dead during treatment. For this reason the family members of the deceased created a ruckus in the hospital.
Actually, Vinod Bhoir (18) and some of his friends were playing cards near a Ganpati pandal in Virar, when a patrol vehicle from Arnala Sagari police station reached the spot. The officer said, “Seeing the police, Bhoir and his friends got scared and started running, but Bhoir fell there and got injured. After this, Bhoir was taken to the local hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
According to news agency, angry local residents blamed the police for his death and created a ruckus at the hospital, following which the authorities had to call the police. Police have claimed that Bhoir panicked and due to this he suffered a heart attack and died.
The officer said that more personnel were called to ensure that the situation at the hospital did not go out of control. He told that senior police officers also reached the hospital. He told that the atmosphere of the hospital is still tense.
