An eventful day is anticipated in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, previously known as Aurangabad, in Maharashtra. The Shiv Sena headed by Eknath Shinde and the Maha Vikas Aghadi have both scheduled demonstrations today, only days after the city saw violence.
Both the governing BJP’s “Savarkar Gaurav Yatra” and a rally by the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) are taking place today with strict security measures in place to ensure both events go off without a hitch.
The political events occur days after rioting and arson in the city’s Kiradpura neighborhood during Ram Navami, which resulted in one death, many police injuries, and damaged and destroyed property, including automobiles.
