Mohan Markam, the leader of the Chhattisgarh Congress, said on Saturday that he would adhere to the directives of Kumari Selja, the state unit in-charge, although he had not yet appointed a new general secretary as she had requested as of late in the day.
On June 22, Selja overturned Markam’s previous judgment and reinstalled Ravi Ghosh as the state Congress’ general secretary.
However, according to party insiders, the Pradesh Congress Committee has not yet issued an order appointing Ravi Ghosh.
In light of recent events, it was apparent that there was trouble brewing inside the governing party before to the year-end Assembly elections.
In Rajnandgaon on Friday, Markam had assured reporters that “if there is any issue, we will sit down, talk, and sort it out.”
“She (Selja) is our protector and mentor. Chhatisgarh PCC complies with all of her directives. The Congress party is disciplined, everyone abides by the top command’s orders, and we will keep doing so, he had remarked.
In lieu of Ghosh, who was given responsibility for the Bastar Congress, Markam had chosen Arun Sisodia as general secretary of administration and organization on June 16. The organization’s general secretary, Amarjeet Chawla, received additional duties as well.
