Mumbai: Lakhs of passengers face the problem of ‘not getting ST tickets even after deducting money’ while booking tickets through the official mobile app and official website of ST Corporation. It will now be gone forever. A Pravasi Suvidha app is being prepared for the passengers to make reservation of ST tickets easily, and the passengers will be able to use this app from August.
Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Corporation Shekhar Channe participated in the organized ‘Mata Katta’ activity on Thursday. Shekhar Channe testified that while new trains are being added to the fleet of ST, which is the lifeline of Maharashtra, the corporation will also focus on passenger technology. ST Corporation has entered into an agreement with Ibis-Cash Company for a period of five years to make reservation of trains easy, convenient and hassle-free for ST passengers. Non-availability of car for reservation, deduction of money without reservation of ticket and hassle to get refund etc. are many flaws in the reservation system currently in use. At the same time, the passengers have to face the problems of the official website being closed while making the ticket reservation. Shekhar Channe has expressed the belief that ‘due to the modern reservation system, passengers will not face any difficulties while making advance reservations from ST’s website or mobile app’. The app for tickets will have facility of payment through Google Pay, Paytm and other mobile apps. This will fulfill the demand of passengers to have online payment facility. Currently payment options are available by cash and credit-debit cards. After downloading the Pravasi Suvidha app, the reserved seat number, train information as well as the location of the train will be available to the passengers on the app itself. For this, the work of connecting the passenger information system is going on.
