Due to preparations for the introduction of the semi-high speed train between Mumbai and Goa, the picturesque Konkan Railways is anticipated to get its first Vande Bharat in June, according to authorities with knowledge of the situation.
Since a few days ago, there has been a trial run for the train service between Madgaon in Goa and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CST) in Mumbai. The voyage between Mumbai, India’s financial center, and Goa, its tourist capital, is set to change as a result of the train.
Although there are currently a few trains that run between Mumbai and Goa, the Konkan Railway official informed News18 on the condition of anonymity that this train would be the quickest and complete the trip in only around seven hours. As of now, it takes at least eight to nine hours to go between the two stations.
However, the official declined to comment on the specifics of the anticipated inauguration date and the suggested route, stating that “these details are still being finalized.”
THE GORGEOUS ‘KONKAN RAILWAY’
The Konkan Railways, which runs between Mumbai and Mangalore through Maharashtra, Goa, and Karnataka, is regarded as one of the most picturesque railway routes in the world.
It is a stretch of territory that borders the Arabian Sea on the west and the Sahyadri Hills on the east. On January 26, 1998, the first train along the Konkan railway was signaled to depart. It served for 25 years as of this year.
The Goa-Mumbai line is part of the Konkan Railways, which has a total length of around 750 kilometers. The voyage takes the railway through rivers, valleys, and mountains with 72 stops along the way.
There are 91 tunnels throughout the total route, which is 85 km long. The 6.5 km long Karbude Tunnel at Ratnagiri is the longest tunnel along the route.
Additionally, the route features 1,880 bridges, including 179 major bridges and 1,701 minor bridges, and 342 bends. Additionally, there are 372 road crossings.
DESCRIPTION OF MUMBAI-GOA VANDE BHARAT

MUMBAI’S FOURTH VANDE BHARAT
There are now three Vande Bharat trains leaving Mumbai, one for each of Gandhinagar, Shirdi, and Solapur. The fourth train from the financial hub of India will be this one.
There are presently 18 pairs of Vande Bharat trains operating in India, with the most recent one beginning service on Monday from Guwahati to New Jalpaiguri. Odisha’s first Vande Bharat between Puri and Howrah became operational earlier this month.
Six pairs of Vande Bharat trains, in addition to the three from Mumbai, are running from Delhi. These semi-fast trains link the nation’s capital with Dehradun, Ajmer, Varanasi, Katra, Bhopal, and Amb Andaura.
From Chennai, two pairs of Vande Bharats go to Mysuru and Coimbatore. On the Bilaspur-Nagpur, Howrah-New Jalpaiguri, Secunderabad-Tirupati, Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam, and Thiruvananthapuram-Kasaragod lines, Vande Bharat is also in operation.
