According to police, a 45-year-old man was detained here on Thursday after he reportedly killed his wife on the grounds that she was having an affair with one of his friends. On a late Wednesday night, the event happened in the Dharavi neighbourhood of Shahu Nagar.
The father, a carpenter by trade, and his 28-year-old wife got into a fight after he got home from work and saw that his three-year-old kid was weeping while she was on the phone.
He already had a sneaking notion that she was dating his buddy outside of marriage. He allegedly used a pair of scissors to stab her in the neck during a fit of fury.
Later, he claimed that her boyfriend had stabbed her and, with the assistance of neighbours, drove her to a hospital.
During treatment, the patient passed away.
He confessed to murdering his wife throughout the course of the inquiry, and as a result, he was taken into custody, according to the police official.
