Property taxpayers have responded favorably to the Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) during the last several days. Commercial and industrial buildings in the Taloja Industrial Estate and the CIDCO region have paid their property taxes.
The civic organization has so far collected over 225 crores.
1800 property owners received notices.
The local government sent notifications to around 1800 property owners in accordance with Commissioner Ganesh Deshmukh’s directives for the direct collection of taxes from commercial properties, and about 21 crores of property tax were collected.
Direct action has been taken to recoup money from taxpayers who own commercial property in order to prevent PMC from suffering financial damage. For the recovery, a total of eight teams have been organized.
The chance of residents paying property tax is rising as a result of the 2 percent monthly increase in the penalty for non-payment. Moreover, the Municipal Corporation has created a mobile app for paying property taxes online called “PMC TAX APP.”
By visiting panvelmc.org, citizens may also pay their property taxes online.
