Neeraj Chopra, the current Olympic champion for India in the javelin throw, will participate in the FBK Games 2023 on June 4 in the Netherlands. This will be another step in his preparation for the year’s major competitions.
Neeraj Chopra’s second competition of the year will be the FBK Games, held annually at the Fanny Blankers-Koen Stadium in Hengelo, the Netherlands, while he prepares for the forthcoming World Athletics Championships and the Asian Games.
Chopra began his campaign by winning the Doha Diamond League 2023 on May 5 at the Qatar Sports Club with a record-breaking performance of 88.67m on his first try.
Chopra, who is renowned for his fast starts, came very close to breaking the 89.94-meter national javelin record on his first throw.
There will be a total of 15 events at the one-day meet, which is a part of the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold series at the highest level. There will be eight events for men and seven for women.
Men will compete in the 100-meter, 400-meter, 1500-meter, 110-meter, 400-meter hurdles, pole vault, long jump, and javelin throw events. Women will compete in the 100-meter, 200-meter, 400-meter, 1500-meter, 100-meter hurdles, high jump, and shot put events.
In addition to seeking to defend his Diamond League title and the gold medal in the javelin event at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China in September, Chopra will compete at the World Athletics Championships.
Chopra will want to win the top place in the Paris 2024 Games in order to defend his Tokyo 2020 Olympic gold title.
