According to authorities, Andhra Pradesh reported GST income of Rs 7,653 crore in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2023–24, an increase of 24% over the same period in 2022–23.
During a review meeting on revenue-generating ministries, they informed the Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy about this income, stressing that this GST money is excluding of compensation.
According to a news statement released by the state government on Monday, revenue from the registration department increased to Rs 2,794 crore as of July 15 from Rs 2,292 crore produced in the previous fiscal.
The Chief Minister was told by officials that 5,000 registrations have already taken place at the village secretariats, generating an income of Rs 8 crore, in the areas where the resurvey of lands has been finished.
Officials claim that the Suliyari coal block, which is anticipated to generate 5 million tonnes of coal in the current fiscal year, and the Mangampeta baryte deposits are generating additional income for the Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation (APMDC).
Even though authorities predicted it would soar to Rs 4,000 crore in 2023–24, APMDC’s income grew to Rs 1,806 crore in 2022–23 from Rs 502 crore in 2020–21.
The Chief Minister made the point at the meeting that these departments’ income has risen over the last four years as a result of the introduction of reforms, the execution of transparent policies, and the closing of loopholes.
Reddy gave personnel in charge of the transport department instructions to adopt the best automobile tax laws by making changes and enacting new regulations after researching laws in other states.
He said that the revenue-generating agencies should include the district collectors more while implementing the rules, and that the new regulations should be the finest in the nation to stimulate car purchases.
To boost the revenue-generating process, close gaps, and raise understanding of current rules, he suggested that the finance department and others frequently have review meetings with district collectors.
