On Tuesday, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will go to the Sangli region of Maharashtra to see the birthplace of renowned Marathi poet and social reformer Annabhau Sathe.
On August 1, 1920, Sathe was born in Sangli’s Wategaon. On July 18, 1969, he passed away. On August 1, Telangana CM Rao, popularly known as KCR, would go to Wategaon, according to a press release from the Maharashtra-based Shetkari Sanghatana, a group that supports farmers.
The farmers’ organization stated that a delegation met with Rao on Saturday to discuss a number of concerns affecting producers. Rao visited the districts of Solapur and Osmanabad in Maharashtra last month.
Rao has been working to boost the party in neighboring Maharashtra since changing the name of his Telangana Rashtra Samithi to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in December of last year. He has given public speeches stressing his “Telangana model” of development in Nanded and other cities in Maharashtra.
