On Thursday, the cost of gasoline and diesel remains almost constant throughout the nation, including in the four major cities. However, in the case of certain cities, a little increase and decline in rates has also been seen.
As a result, one litre of gasoline continues to retail for 101.94 in Mumbai, the world’s financial center, 106.03 in Kolkata, 102.63 in Chennai, and 96.72 in New Delhi, the nation’s capital. On the other hand, the price of an equivalent amount of fuel is still 94.27 in Mumbai, 94.24 in Chennai, 92.76 in Kolkata, and 89.62 in New Delhi.
Since May 21 of last year, when the latest countrywide change to these was announced, the price of gasoline and diesel has remained essentially consistent.
Oil marketing organizations (OMCs) such as Bharat Petroleum, Hindustan Petroleum, and Indian Oil in India make daily decisions about fuel pricing. Every day at 6 am, the rates—whether the same or unchanged—are released. The daily revision process started in June 2017; before to that, they were updated every 15 days.
Additionally, it should be remembered that gasoline costs differ from state to state. This is because of things like value-added tax (VAT), shipping costs, municipal taxes, etc.
