An official said on Tuesday that two persons had been detained by Pune police for reportedly yelling “Pakistan Zindabad” in the Kondhwa neighborhood.
They were charged with offering provocation with the purpose to incite unrest under section 153 of the Indian Penal Code, he added.
“On Monday evening (August 14), several residents complained that two people were yelling “Pakistan Zindabad.” The police officer said that the culprit had been brought into custody.
Tauqir and Akbar Nadaf were named as the pair.
The official said that both are employed as security guards and that one of them works at a school.
