On Saturday, the son-in-law of the former president of the Congress Sonia Gandhi, Robert Vadra, said that his wife, Priyanka Gandhi, had all of the credentials necessary to serve in Parliament and that she ought to do so.
“Without a doubt, she needs to be a member of the Lok Sabha. She satisfies every requirement necessary to do the job. She is the kind of person who ought to be serving in Parliament because she brings a lot to the table. According to a report from PTI, Robert Vadra was cited as saying, “I hope that the Congress party accepts and plans better for her.”
During his speech in Parliament, Vadra was also critical of Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani for associating his name with the business mogul Gautam Adani. Vadra said Irani should apologize for her comments.
Irani had exhibited a photograph of Vadra with Adani as the House of Representatives was debating the vote of no confidence.
Vadra said that he stays out of politics, but “I will speak to fight for my name because if there is anything they say, they have to prove it.” Vadra indicated that he avoids politics.
“I challenge them to show me something that I have done with Mr. Adani if they are going to take my name and ‘you are going to bring my photograph.’” And if there is any wrongdoing, I will deal with it, and if there isn’t, they have to apologize and will have to take it back,’ he added. “And if there is any wrongdoing, I will deal with it.”
“We have a photograph of our very own prime minister sitting on Adani’s jet,” the speaker said. “We are quite concerned about this. Why shouldn’t we inquire into it in addition to the questions that Rahul Gandhi has been asking? “And why are these questions not answered,” he questioned.
According to Vadra, champion female wrestlers were holding a demonstration for their rights in Delhi, but Irani, who is the union minister for the development of women and children, never went to meet with them and listen to their complaints. Vadra claimed this.
“I did not see Smriti Irani meet them or take up their issues,” said the member of Parliament. While the state of Manipur has been on fire, this minister (Smriti Irani) feels compelled to bring up some aspect of my character that is unflattering. He said, “I am not even a member of Parliament.”
“Since this government came to power, they always come up with something against me whenever they are cornered and they want to digress from real issues… but they have never been able to prove anything against me,” he added. “Since this government came to power, they always come up with something against me whenever they are cornered and they want to digress from real issues.”
He said that in regard to the opposition coalition, the Congress has joined the INDIA bloc, and that it would give them (the BJP-led NDA) a fair battle in the 2024 elections for the Lok Sabha.
“In my opinion, INDIA is an excellent choice for the title. We are going to restore India’s former greatness. “The Indian government under the BJP has been a disaster,” he said. “I have a great deal of optimism. And I believe, and I hope, that the people who live in this nation will give this group the opportunity to make India better, secular again, progressive again, and… unified again.
In addition to this, he inquired as to the reasons why the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, had not yet paid a visit to the state of Manipur and why he had spoken in such a “derogatory way” about the state during his address in parliament.
“Those shocking videos need to be sent to the prime minister again to show what is happening in Manipur,” said Vadra, alluding to the video that showed two women being paraded nude in the state. Vadra was referring to the video that was filmed in Manipur.
“There is no question that this is a delicate subject. It is important that the Prime Minister check at the current situation in Manipur personally. There you’ll find the seat of their government. He said that they needed to find a solution to the problem or let another party to handle it.
He said that the governing dispensation’s total abuse of power is shown by the fact that opposition lawmakers were expelled from the House of Representatives.
“As they use central agency on people from the opposition party, they use the suspension tactic,” he added. “They use the suspension tactic.”
