Sidharth Malhotra’s latest outing in a Uniform, Indian Police Force has taken the country by storm, and many have praised the actor for his performance as a Delhi Police Officer in the series.
Sidharth Malhotra’s character, DCP Kabir Malik, is the definition of an Angry Young Man, he is fearless, intense, driven, and even reckless on occasion. However, he is also, kind, caring and vulnerable. Sidharth brings out all of the qualities of this deep and nuanced character in perfect fashion, making DCP Kabir Malik a true Bollywood hero, with many saying that it reminds them of Amitabh Bachchan’s character in the film Zanjeer.
In a recent interview with a prominent media portal, an IPS Officer went on to say that he was very happy that someone as fit and good-looking as Sidharth Malhotra was playing a Police Officer and that the series would send a very good and encouraging message to the Police Force. He further went on to say that he was very pleased with Sidharth, much like he was when Amitabh Bachchan had played a police officer.
In a previous fan interaction as well, the Director of Indian Police Force, Rohit Shetty, drew parallels between Sidharth’s distinctive voice and that of a young Amitabh Bachchan, saying “Sid young Amit ji nai lagte? Uska voice”, later adding “Yeh dekh zanjeer ka Amitabh Bachchan (See, that’s Amitabh Bachchan from Zanjeer),” evoking a wide smile from the IPF star.
After Rohit Shetty brought to light the similarities between Amitabh Bachchan and Sidharth Malhotra, social media was full of discussion as fans picked up on even more similarities between the two stars.
As Sidharth Malhotra continues to cement his status as this generation’s Quintessential Hindi Film Hero after the national award winning film Shershaah, his introduction to Rohit Shetty’s cop universe in Indian Police Force is well on its way to becoming an audience favourite, as it trends in a number of countries across the globe.
