On Sunday midday, members of the main opposition Samajwadi Party Legislature met under the supervision of party president and Leader of the Opposition Akhilesh Yadav and resolved to address pertinent problems using legislative methods.
Meanwhile, in a tweet on Sunday, BSP president Mayawati said, “In the session of the UP Legislative Assembly beginning tomorrow, the government should show special responsibility regarding the important issues of public interest such as rising inflation, poverty, unemployment, and the poor condition of roads, electricity, water, peace and security, etc.” Because of these issues, people’s lives are disturbed and chaotic.”
She went on to say that “at the same time, in order to create accountability in the House for their fluent promises and claims in matters of public interest, public welfare, and development by the government, the opposition should force them to keep factual things in the House under the rules.”
Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), headed by Om Prakash Rajbhar, would switch sides in this session, having just joined the NDA after quitting the SP-led coalition. The SBSP has six Assembly members.
During the five-day session, the government is expected to present a dozen Ordinances, the majority of which would approve new private colleges.
