On Saturday, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar voiced his disapproval of demanding parents who coerce their children into pursuing careers that are considered to be “mainstream” and do not let their children to pursue their interests.
During his conversation with a delegation of students from Kerala who had come to see him at the Upa Rashtrapati Nivas in this city, he observed, “Parents want to live their life through their children.” That is not a positive thing. Every aspect of life has the potential to provide accomplishments.
The Vice President of the United States voiced harsh displeasure of some parents who place unreasonable expectations on their children and encourage them to “become civil servants or engineers when the child actually wants to become a musician or a photographer.”
In response to a query posed by a fellow student, Dhankhar characterized the usage of illegal drugs as a threat to the whole globe. He referred to drugs as a threat to mankind and said that they ruin the brains of those people who have the potential to move the planet to a higher level.
The vice president, when asked about the reasons why people consume drugs, said that one reason is because we are moving away from our fundamental cultural values and the importance of family life. In addition to this, he advocated the establishment of a culture that promotes the values of family, community, friendship, and respect for one’s elders.
Dhankhar called on the establishment to be “strict with those who deal in drugs and never fear to expose those making money on account of drugs.” He praised the government for adopting a harsh position on the drug problem and praised the government’s decision to take a severe approach.
