Following a landslide that killed at least 16 people and damaged numerous homes in the steep hamlet of Irshalwadi in Maharashtra, the local government in the Raigad district has appealed for help from the public.
The government said in the appeal published by the district information officer on Friday that the people of Chowk-Nanivali gram panchayat have been negatively impacted by the mudslide, which has also harmed their livestock and personal property.
Authorities have requested assistance from residents to help the afflicted communities go back to their regular lifestyles, it added. The District Disaster Response Fund is located in the State Bank of India’s Alibag Main branch, and anybody wishing to donate money may do so there.
