Bickram Ghosh, an Indian traditional tabla musician, has published a new song called “Yeh Desh!” in honor of India’s 76th Independence Day. The musical homage successfully combines tradition and contemporary to reflect the spirit of India’s rich history and dynamic growth.
Along with vocalists from Indian Idol Rishi Singh, Debosmita Roy, Chirag Kotwal, Bidipta Chakraborty, Senjuti Das, and Mohammad Faiz, the single also features vocals from musical legends Hariharan, Richa Sharma, Shaan, Kavita Seth, and Mahalakshmi Iyer.
Bickram Ghosh said of the song, “‘Yeh Desh!’ occupies a particular place in my heart as an artist. From the incredible musicians to the visionary brains behind the film, the cooperation and commitment of every member of our team have resulted in a product of which we are quite proud. My colleagues Utsav Parekh, Mayank Jalan, and Gaurang Jalan of Eternal Sounds deserve praise for producing this. I’m pleased to share our song with the rest of the globe since it honors the spirit of our country.
The track’s musical part features the Mohan Veena of Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, the flute of Pandit Ronu Majumdar, the sitar of Shri Purbayan Chatterjee, the veena of Shri Rajesh Vaidya, the mridangam of Pandit S. Sekhar, and the tabla and percussion of Bickram Ghosh.
