Sources claim that the Congress party would support the Jammu and Kashmir government but is unlikely to serve in Omar Abdullah’s cabinet. This occurs just before Omar Abdullah will take office as the union territory’s first chief minister.
The oath-taking ceremony and his council of ministers will take place at 11:30 a.m. at Srinagar’s Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC).
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will deliver the oath to Omar Abdullah, the former state’s chief minister from 2009 to 2014, who served in an NC-Congress alliance.
On October 11, Omar Abdullah submitted letters of support from 42 National Conference MLAs, four independents, six Congress lawmakers, and one CPI(M) delegate in an attempt to establish a government.
