The Uttarakhand licencing authorities have stopped the manufacturing licences of fourteen goods manufactured by Patanjali’s Divya Pharmacy due to the company’s frequent publication of false marketing regarding the product’s efficacy. The regulator’s order alleges violations of the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act and the Drugs and Cosmetics Act due to deceptive advertising methods.

The dispute concerns the Indian Medical Association’s claims that Ramdev’s Patanjali misrepresents traditional medicine and continues to run deceptive advertisements in defiance of a court order to cease.
